A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME...
Hello! Name's Lu, I’m an experienced graphic designer and 2D digital artist from Italy, now living in London while balancing my part-time job with the wonderfully messy life of being an artist.
I’ve done a bit of everything in my life: digital and print design, editorial work, photo retouching and photomanipulations - but, as you can see, my heart belongs to digital illustration. Ferals, fantasy creatures, nature-inspired and dreamy landscapes are right up my alley!
Outside of work? I’m an animal lover without a pet (tragic, I know) and a foodie. Oh, and a shameless, nerdy open-world fantasy gamer.
I consider myself a bit of an introverted, but I can be pretty much approachable and friendly, always helping out fellow artists whenever I can.
I know what you're thinking about: no, this isn’t another motivational blog with a magic formula for “making it” as an artist. It's gonna be more like a straightforward look at the messy, chaotic life of a freelance artist.
I started this blog out of frustration with all those fake success stories shared everywhere, the kind that claims posting 20 times a week will make you go viral: all the people we used to follow for their amazing work are now social media experts and their latest masterpiece is a $999 course that will supposedly fix your career overnight if you just buy it, we get it.
But this space? Is personal, and is different. If you're here to know what being an artist actually looks like today, come join the club! I’ll share what I’ve learned along the way, from ridiculous job offers to clients constantly changing their minds, creative burnouts, the constant pressure to stay visible online and a million other relatable challenges of an artist's life.
Expect honest, practical, and occasionally hilarious insights into freelance life, and a good amount of helpful suggestions that will turn your struggles into something you can overcome and learn from! ❤️
