Hey wanderers, welcome into my little writing corner!
I’m Ulfeid3, a digital artist obsessed with ferals, nature landscapes and fantasy worlds. I started this blog to share what it’s really like to survive the freelance art life, with raw insights and practical suggestions.
In this post: what this blog is (and isn't) // inside a creative mind // a glimpse at what means to be a digital artist // behind the curtains of any freelance artist life // why you should stick around
Forget al those copy-paste guides promising “secrets to success” or quick hacks: this blog ain't about magic formulas on how to go from zero-to-hero in a hot minute! It's gonna be more about what it’s really like to live as a digital artist nowadays. Because what lies behind the curtain is... Kinda messy, to use a nice wording.
Some days you’re staring at a blank canvas, wondering if you’ll ever finish that project.
Other days, your client changes their mind five times and expects you to comply with that.
Or a file gets corrupted straight away before delivery and you completely lose your sh*t.
Sleepless nights, gatekeeping, endless revisions, bureaucratic headaches, imposter syndrome, social fatigue: no one warns you about that. Or, better to say, no one talks about it enough and in an open way like I am more than willing to do.
Because, believe me, I’ve been there too - and I know what it feels like. Not cool, meh.

I won't sugarcoat the pill for you, and no, you won't see any perfectly-framed IG photo of a colorful, tidy workspace with expensive tools around: my laptop is a crusty piece of useless metal, the iPad I'm currently working on just recently died on me and my "workspace" is waaaaaay far to be decent enough to be even remotely considered for an online post.
So yeah, it'll be just honest stories from my POV about all the struggles and the joy of being a digital artist: stress, chaos & how to deal with everything all on your own!
I’ll share mistakes I've made and challenges I face daily as an artist, everything I know about work-life balance and much more. Last, but not least, I'd like to talk about all the tiny and big victories that, after all these years, keep me going. And that may keep you going as well.
If you’re done with all the fluff and trying to survive and learn as artist...
You've found your place. Take a sit and grab a cookie, my friend: it's tea time! 🍪🍵
